The longevity of semi-permanent makeup can vary based on factors such as the type of treatment, the individual's skin type, and how well they take care of the treated area. Generally, here's how long you can expect different types of semi-permanent makeup to last: Eyebrows: Semi-permanent eyebrow makeup, like microblading or eyebrow tattooing, typically lasts around 1 to 3 years. Touch-up sessions may be needed to maintain the colour and shape as the pigment gradually fades. Eyeliner: Semi-permanent eyeliner can last between 1 to 5 years, depending on factors like the colour used and the individual's skin type. Lighter colours tend to fade faster than darker ones. Lips: Semi-permanent lip colour can last around 2 to 5 years. Over time, the colour may lighten, and touch-ups can help maintain the desired shade. The body's natural shedding and turnover of skin cells contribute to the gradual fading of the pigment over time. It's important to follow the aftercare instructions provided. Proper care can help extend the life of the semi-permanent makeup. Additionally, exposure to the sun, swimming, and certain skincare products can affect how long the pigment lasts. Regular touch-up sessions may be recommended to refresh the colour and maintain the desired appearance.

NO! Permanent make-up is done using a cosmetic tattooing process and our eyebrow pigmentation unique artistry guarantees soft, natural looking eyebrows. When we implant the pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than eyebrow pencil or powders. The best brows are those that no-one can tell have been enhanced – and this is what we aim for.
We choose a shape and style together based on your skin type and natural features. At the beginning of the procedure, Amy will draw in a suggested shape for your new brows and then you work together to perfect this to your preference and measurements are taken to check symmetry and position. We will work with your features and your preferences. You of course have the final say on your shape and style and we never make a start until you are totally happy.
  • How many treatments will I require?
The number of treatments of skin boosters you'll require can vary based on several factors, including your skin's condition, your desired outcome, and the specific type of skin booster being used. Skin boosters are typically injectable treatments that aim to improve skin hydration, texture, and overall appearance. Here are some general guidelines for the number of skin booster treatments you might need: Initial Treatment Series: We recommend an initial series of skin booster treatments to achieve optimal results. This series can consist of 2 to 4 sessions spaced a few weeks apart. This approach allows for gradual improvement and gives your skin time to respond to the treatment. Maintenance Sessions: After the initial series, maintenance sessions are often recommended to sustain the results. Maintenance sessions can be done every few months to once or twice a year, depending on your skin's needs and how long the effects of the treatment last for you. Skin Condition: The severity of your skin concerns will play a role in determining the number of treatments needed. If you have more significant skin issues, you might require additional sessions to achieve the desired improvement. Desired Outcome: Your desired outcome will also impact the number of sessions. If you're aiming for subtle improvement, you might require fewer sessions compared to someone seeking more dramatic changes. Skin Type and Response: Each individual's skin responds differently to treatments. Some people might see noticeable results after just one or two sessions, while others might need more sessions to achieve similar outcomes. Keep in mind that while you might start to see improvements after the initial series of treatments, the full effects of skin boosters may take a few weeks to become apparent as the hyaluronic acid works to hydrate and improve the skin's texture.
  • Does skin boosters hurt?
The level of discomfort experienced during skin booster treatments can vary from person to person and depends on factors such as your pain tolerance, the specific treatment technique, and the area being treated. However, many people describe the sensation during skin booster treatments as relatively mild and tolerable.
  • Will my face swell after the treatment?
Right after a skin booster treatment, your face might exhibit some immediate effects due to the injections and the nature of the treatment. Keep in mind that these effects are typically temporary and part of the normal process as your skin responds to the treatment. Here's what you might expect to see immediately after a skin booster treatment: Redness: It's common to experience mild redness at the injection sites. This redness is usually a result of the injections themselves and typically subsides within a few hours to a day. Swelling: Some degree of swelling can occur, particularly if hyaluronic acid-based skin boosters were used. The swelling is usually mild to moderate and tends to improve over the next day or two. Tiny Bumps: You might notice small, raised bumps at the injection sites. These are a normal part of the skin's response to the treatment and will usually disappear within a few hours to a day. Tenderness: The treated areas might feel slightly tender to the touch. This tenderness is temporary and should resolve within a day or two. Minor Bruising: Bruising at the injection sites is possible, although it's not always a common side effect. If bruising occurs, it's usually mild and fades within a week or so. Immediate Hydration: One positive effect you might notice right away is improved hydration in the treated areas. The hyaluronic acid in the skin booster attracts water and helps plump up the skin, leading to a smoother and more hydrated appearance. Initial Results: While the full effects of skin booster treatments might take a few weeks to become fully apparent as the hyaluronic acid stimulates collagen production and improves skin texture, you might notice some immediate improvement in the appearance of fine lines and overall skin quality. Remember that the immediate effects after a skin booster treatment are usually temporary and should resolve relatively quickly.
  • I already have semi permanent makeup – can’t you just go over them and darken them?
If you already have permanent makeup that has faded and maybe needs a colour correction (perhaps they are greyish, or a little warm/pink?) then they must be faded enough for the skin to have ‘room’ in it to accept the new colour. If your work is too saturated, a few removal sessions can help to remove enough ink or pigment to make a correction successful.
  • How is saline removal different than laser?
YLasers work by shattering ink into smaller pieces allowing the body to digest them through the immune system. Laser removal can be very successful, however it does tend to only work well on certain colours. and skin that has been laser treated is often difficult to re tattoo – not ideal if you're planning new semi permanent makeup or a cover up.
  • How many treatments will it take to remove a tattoo?
On average, tattoos require 2 – 5 sessions, with the sessions being 8-12 weeks apart. The amount of time required for the removal of a tattoo and the success of the removal varies with each individual. Factors influencing this include: skin type, location, colour, amount of ink, scarring or tissue change and layering. If you have semi permanent makeup and you are planning to have your look refreshed or corrected after some removal, you may not need to have that many sessions.
  • Will the tattoo or semi permanent makeup completely disappear?
In most cases, if the treatment sessions are continued, then yes. However due to the different factors involved it is not possible to predict how well a tattoo will fade.
